The DEI learning program for Re Sustainability was conducted from April 16th to 18th, offering 15 sessions of 45 minutes each in complete darkness for 12 participants per session. This program reached 180 corporate employees, including policymakers, senior management personnel, and educationalists.

For this CSR initiative, Re Sustainability partnered with Dialogue in the Dark India to champion the labor inclusion of persons with disabilities.

For GEMINI EDIBLES, the program was held from July 3rd to 6th and included 20 engaging DEI sessions, reaching 356 participants, including business leaders, DEI heads, and HR leads.

This initiative was part of Gemini Edibles' CSR efforts to foster understanding and empathy toward persons with disabilities.

The program in the dark included activities to stimulate the other four senses, allowing participants to experience a powerful encounter with facilitators who have visual disabilities.

After the dark experience, participants had the opportunity to debrief with the facilitators, further exploring topics and asking questions.

These programs attracted a diverse group of attendees from various job roles, positions, sectors, corporations, startups, and industries, aiming to reach decision-makers who can influence job inclusion for persons with disabilities in their sectors.

The most remarkable impact was the shift in mindset. According to surveys, before the experience, participants’ perceptions of persons with disabilities were often associated with pity, sympathy, charity, and sadness. After the experience and the encounter with facilitators, perceptions shifted to empathy, recognition of abilities, a sense of opportunity, and inspiration.

We commend DiD India for promoting inclusion through these impactful events, demonstrating the profound impact of DiD formats on organizations committed to fostering inclusion.
